How and When to Create a Deal
Deal creation
- When a franchisee has generated a lead that did not come in through the website form to Hubspot, they are required to create a Deal for that lead and move it through the pipeline accordingly.
- A deal should be created when a franchisee is actively talking to a customer about having King of Pops at a specific event.
- For example, if a franchisee is doing cold calls, or is sending an email template to a group of contacts, a deal should not be made for every customer that has been contacted, as these are initial reach outs and are not discussions about a deal yet.
- However, if a customer that has been contacted responds to the email or cold call and asks for information and pricing about a specific event, then a Deal would need to be created.
- For example, if a franchisee is doing cold calls, or is sending an email template to a group of contacts, a deal should not be made for every customer that has been contacted, as these are initial reach outs and are not discussions about a deal yet.
Deal naming convention
- In order to keep our pipelines organized and consistent, every deal should look like so:
- First Name and Last Name of Contact | Event Name
- For example: Steven Carse | Employee Appreciation
Deal and contact associations
- All deals should be associated with a contact. On the Deal creation page, you may associate the deal with a contact by clicking on the contact association section of the page and searching the name or email of the contact associated with the deal.
- If the contact you need to associate with the deal is not in Hubspot, select the Contacts option from the Contacts dropdown at the top left of the page in Hubspot.
- Then, select the orange Create Contact button at the top right of the page and fill in the contact’s information.
- From there, you can associate the contact with the new deal.
- If the contact you need to associate with the deal is not in Hubspot, select the Contacts option from the Contacts dropdown at the top left of the page in Hubspot.
