Identifying Potential Opportunities

Determining potential prospects, this is the initial call to learn preliminary information about the candidate and to determine at least at high level, there is a small amount of interest working with King of Pops

Music Festivals

We’ve gone to Festivals across the country and have brand awareness from . We’ve been a mainstay at Governor’s Ball, Bonnaroo, Forecastle, Electric Forest and Okeechobee to name a few.

While it is a major undertaking, it can be fun and profitable if planned properly.

We’ve used these websites to identify. Please make sure through HubSpot that you are not applying to a festival that is in someone else’s territory or already applied.

For 2023:

If you are applying to an out-of-territory festival, you must first submit an Unowned Territory Retail Request for the event.

For additional details about the process, see section 6.1.9

Neighborhood Festivals

Neighborhood Festivals can range in size for a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of people. We have found success at events of all sizes. There are lots of resources to find events in your territory. Here are a few:

Food Truck Groups

Most metropolitan areas have developed food truck groups. It is worthwhile to research and reach out to any that are active in your area. Many Food Trucks do not have dessert options so we are a great option to add to their catered events. They will also constantly be sending out opportunities for retail sales.

If your area does not have a Food Truck group consider starting your own alliance of Food Truck operators. It’s a great way to network and build your business.

Community Websites, Next Door, Craigslist & Yard Sale Sites

There are several websites, platforms and community message boards that are helpful for generating opportunities. We’ve had luck with Next Door, Craigslist, Facebook and Yard Sale websites. Many of these sites have rules about soliciting, but it is helpful to be active on these hyper local message boards as they will help to keep you in the loop.

Try the following:

We recommend supporting small events that you find here with 10-20 pops to get the word out and let people know that you are available.

Breweries

Many breweries do not have food options and have large outdoor areas. This makes them awesome candidates to set up your cart. Typically the traffic is only high enough on the weekends and when they have events.

Permitting

Our product is regulated by the department of Agriculture. Sometimes organizers will think you need a health permit like a Food Truck, but you do not since we serve a prepacked frozen product.
